Cast A Spell On Your Loved One With Charming Flowers

Flowers have continued to allude human beings since the ancient ages.

Recently, a potted plant was in full bloom. You might frown and ask that what is so special about it? The specialty lies in the fact that these freshly bloomed white petaled flowers are thirty thousand years old. The seeds of this type of plant were lying buried in layers of ice in the frozen parts of Siberia. Some wild squirrel had mischievously buried the seeds in the snow some thirty thousand years ago. After a long span of time scientists in this age have successfully flowered this plant in their laboratory.

Flowers

As we rejoice with the delicate white petals and hold it as the glory of the bygone ages we treasure all the flowers which have occupied a place of prominence in our mythology. In the Hindu mythology there are many flowers which are held as the epitome of sacred love among the Hindu Gods and goddesses. The Hindu mythology has tales of sweet flowers sitting pretty on the deities. Most of the times the flowers held in them a kind of folklore which has enthralled the mankind for ages.

Cast A Spell On Your Loved One With Charming Flowers

If we cast our glance to one of the oldest civilizations of the world, the Egyptian civilization we will come across the fact that the Egyptian Pharaohs decorated their chariots before going to war and gifted flowers as tokens of love to their near and dear ones. To the Egyptians, lilies, the lotus flower, chrysanthemums and chamomile held a significant place in their lives. It was often when the Egyptians made cut piece decorations with these flowers to adorn themselves and decorate their homes. Other than these flowers were used in a multiple of occasions. They were used for weddings as well as for funerals.

It has been centuries since the ages of the Egyptians but the importance of the flowers has not been on the decline. Rather the flowers have permanently etched themselves in our lives forever.

It is a fact that a bunch of flowers can lift up your spirits in a jiffy. In the mornings when you are awakened from your slumber by a warm smile and a basketful of colorful flowers you know instantly that it will make your day. The flowers bright in hue will speak volumes about your feelings towards your spouse. Flowers when gifted to somebody spell out love affection and care for your friend or your near and dear ones. There is no better way to profess your love for your near and dear ones than a bunch of flowers. Though flowers cannot be preserved for a long time the sweet memory can remain in the minds for a long time to come.

Of course, presenting different kinds of flowers will convey different messages to your near and dear ones. A gift of the flowers acacia will indicate concealed love beauty in retirement and chaste love. Butter cups indicate childishness and cheerfulness. A single full bloom rose declares love for the partner.

Paper Flower Patterns

Paper flower patterns can be used for many craft projects. Most people think of just crepe paper flowers for home decor or weddings when they think of these flowers. While it is true that paper flowers are used most often in flower centerpieces, bridal bouquets and flower arrangements of all kinds there are several other projects in which you can use your flower designs.

In this article we will look at a few of the less common ways to use paper flower patterns. Such as gift-wrapping paper, gift tags, tissue box covers and even craft paper projects for children.

Flower

First it is important to get all your patterns from a paper flower book. The book should also provide you with detailed instructions and a picture of the finished product. Using a photocopier and setting the size to the desired size you want for the pattern such as 100% larger can enlarge patterns. Or if you want a smaller pattern you can set it for 25% and it will be copied at 25% of the original size.

Paper Flower Patterns

· Gift wrapping - You can create beautiful gift-wrapping paper using these flower patterns. Simply make the pattern for the flower (petal or stem or both) and make you flower. Wrap the gift in your choice of crepe paper like you would with any type of wrapping paper and attach the flower(s) you made using the pattern to the wrapped gift.

· Gift tags - A matching gift tag to go with the wrapping paper is also a good idea. Use the flower pattern to make the correct size of course you will want it to be much smaller than the wrapping paper pattern so it does not take away but adds to the beauty of the crepe paper wrapped gift.

· Tissue box covers - These are very pretty. Wrap your tissue box in the color of your choice and make the flower using the pattern - measuring it to the correct size so it fits nicely on the top or sides of the tissue box. Just use caution when removing the tissues so you do not tear the crepe paper or the flowers.

· You can use these patterns for anything you would like to decorate. Including photo frames, scrapbooks, candle centerpieces and even holiday candy jars!

Kids love to do crafts and these are perfect for them. Using the patterns they can create any size their little hearts desire. Expect it to be big though. Children seem to love things that are big. Giant flowers are a great way to decorate the lawn during any holiday. Especially Christmas (if the weather cooperates.) Imagine how happy a child would be seeing their huge crepe paper flowers lining the driveway to help guide Santa to their house. Or the pastel colored flowers for the Easter bunny to find his way.

Birthday parties are another great idea for this gigantic crepe paper flower design. If they make enough each guest could bring a flower home with them. These are just a few of the many ideas paper flower patterns can be used for!

Flower Tattoos

For some strange reasons, I like designing flower tattoos more than others. Flower tattoos are mostly favored by women, they are like clothes accessories except that you can wear your tattoo to bed. It's like having a piece of art with you all the time. I find women with tattoos more appealing, sexier, more feminine and more powerful.

The image of a tattoo can be so captivating that it stirs up all our senses. You can have a Rose tattoo with a barbed wire around it and still look very good. It's Ying and Yang, loving and sweet but authoritative and intimidating. But if you are intending to ink a flower tattoo on your body, it's best to find out the meaning of the flower and what you want it to represent. You can then combine different images to give contrasting impressions of your tattoos.

Flower

I have compiled a list of meaning of flowers as a guide before you tattoo them on your body. I cannot vouch how official these meanings are, but my research has shown them to be fairly consistent. flower tattoos are permanent, so look around before deciding on one.

They work equally well for men and women and can be placed just about anywhere on the body you might want a tattoo.

Benefits Of Lotus Flower Tattoos

Lotus Flower Tattoo Designs

The Lotus Flower In Tattoo Design

Every person of course chooses their own tattoo designs carefully and they often have some reasoning behind the choices they make. So a lotus flower can mean one thing to a person and then something else to another person. It is always that way with tattoos the symbolism and reasons for getting the tattoo are as individual as the people who get them. However, this beautiful flowery design has a historical and symbolic significance behind it that attract many people to this design.

The lotus flower is an incredibly beautiful flower and one that has an amazing story behind it. Lotus flowers start down in the muck and mud of areas of still water. They grow a small bud with a vine. Over time the bud's vine starts to grown up and the bud begins it's journey towards the surface of the water. At first the bud is facing downwards towards the much and mud. However, as it rises to the surface it starts to turn itself around and point towards the sun. Once the bud reaches up and over the top of the water line it starts to unfold and the leave blossom into an incredible flower. To the Buddhist and Hindu religion this journey that the flower makes is symbolic of the journey that a person's soul must make towards enlightenment. Therefore in the world of modern tattoos the lotus flower is a symbol of exotic beauty, power, change and strength and also symbolic of a journey or accomplishment.

Additions To A Lotus Flower Tattoo

If you are thinking about getting a rather large lotus flower tattoo design then you might want to add tot he design carefully to give it some more intricacy and detail. However, you want to choose your additions are fully to make sure you stay with the theme of the design. For example a beautiful lotus tattoo could be ruined with some bio mechanical or skull design. Typically additions that work well are water as a background element. You can also add Koi or Carp fish to the design since lotus flowers are often grown in koi ponds and can frequently be seen together outside of temples throughout Japan. You can also include the lilly and other vines to add some more intricacy to the design. You could also add some other flowers to the design such as peonies or cherry blossoms which could both work well with the design and theme.

It really don't matter where you choose to get this design or what you add to the overall design either way if you are considering getting a lotus flower tattoo you are bond to end up with a design that you are going to cherish for the rest of your life.

Best Flower Tattoo Designs - The Lily Tattoo

The Lily flower is my girlfriend's favourite one. I think many other women feel the same about it. I must admit it is quite a beautiful flower, but what I appreciate most about it, is that it is a great subject for wonderful tattoo designs.

The lily is native of the Balkan Peninsula in south-eastern Europe, from where it was imported in other European countries, where it became first one of the most admired flowers and then on of the most popular flower tattoos.

Flower

Traditionally Lily flowers are white - noble, elegant, white flowers, which have been often associated with ideas of purity and innocence.

Best Flower Tattoo Designs - The Lily Tattoo

Christians made of the lily a symbol of purity to represent the divine virginity. St. Joseph is often depicted with a stick from which sprout white lilies. A legend says that Mary chose Joseph because she saw him among many with a white lily in his hand.

Throughout the centuries the lily has been associated with several Saints and the Archangel Gabriel.

But a lily has not always symbolized purity and chastity: Lilies' typical phallic pistil and their erotic fragrance made quite the opposite impression on ancient Greeks, who linked these flowers with concepts like fertility and procreation.

Myths say that the first lily was born from a drop of milk fell from a Juno's breast while nursing the baby Hercules.

The lily is also the heraldic flower for excellence. The connection with procreation may have been behind Louis VII decision to adopt the fleur-de-lis as French coat of arms. The legend says that a lily was brought to him by an angel. So began the story of the French lily, which had also to ensure the prosperity of the royal line.

A stylized lily is still regarded as the emblem of the city of Florence, Italy, and also a quite common tattoo design in that region.

Beside traditional meanings like purity and chastity, today a lily tattoo is also used to represent concepts like pride and nobility of spirit. A lily flower is the ideal gift for a fair, honest and elegant woman, if we want her to feel like a queen. It is also the perfect tattoo design for proud and strong girls who, at the same time, love wonderful and elegant flower tattoo designs.

Here some other common meanings a lily tattoo usually has:
-Yellow lily tattoos mean nobility;
-A pink lily tattoo design means vanity;
-A white lily tattoo, as already mentioned, means Virginity, Purity, Majesty;
-A calla lily tattoo design means pure Beauty;
-A lily is also quite a common tattoo design in China, where it symbolizes "mother". Together with a tiger tattoo design, it symbolizes wealth and pride.

How to Make Fabric Flowers

These are brief instructions on how to make fabric flowers but let me start by telling you how it all started.

Last December, my co-workers and I went to the mall to buy gifts for our significant others for Christmas. We all ended up buying fashionable pocketbooks from the same store. Personally, I wanted to make my wife's pocketbook stand out from the others in some way and not look like all the others. I pondered over this for a few days afterwards, then I had a marvelous idea. Some of my wife's favorite things are from the fabric store and the flower shop. Since I am an avid origami flowers buff making the usual paper origami flowers would be predictable, therefore that was the answer - Making fabric flowers.

Flowers

My only worries were that I would not know where, or what materials I needed to make them, or even exactly how to make the flower since I had only been accustomed mainly to paper crafts, including paper flowers. To my relief, the needed materials were very easy to acquire at the local hobby shop.

How to Make Fabric Flowers

The other thing I was worried about was the time it would take to make the fabric flower, since I didn't know how long it would take to make and Christmas was quickly approaching. Not to mention messing up this new and expensive pocket book and whether or not my flower, even if created correctly, would look okay on it! Again, to my relief it was very inexpensive to buy all the supplies and once everything was acquired it took very little time to make it.

There are only a few items that are needed to make this fabric flower for your significant other, or even your mom or daughter. You will need some fabric, a little piece of felt, some thread (preferably of the same color), some fabric glue (this is optional), and a template (this is the pattern of your design that you trace on the fabric) which you can easily draw the outline for yourself, have someone do for you or find on the internet and print out. The only tools needed are scissors, needle, button (this is used to hide the stitches), and a pin back.

The first step is use your scissors to cut out the number of flowers needed (indicated on the template) in your fabrics. Use the dotted line to cut into each flower.

Next, take the two large pattern flowers and stack them neatly on each other. Fold in half, then lay the smaller flowers on top of the larger flowers, overlapping them.

Then, use your needle and thread to make stitches in the center to hold all the petals together. Now, tie the button over the stitches with the remaining thread from the previous step.

Finally, cut off a round piece of the felt and secure the pin back on to the felt and then sew the felt to the center of the back of the flower.

You can use a dab of fabric glue behind the felt for more security.

I have to tell you that I stupidly tried making my first flower on the pocket book and I did mess up the fabric flower and then had to buy another pocket book. Ouch! I guess I was anxious to get it done on time and my better sense eluded me. I learned my lesson and I recommend you practise a bit on some paper or cheap cloth first. However, I ended up getting it right and it came out great.

After the holiday was over, my wife began showing off her new pocketbook with the cute fabric flower on the front of it. All her friends were in awe because they didn't understand how I could have found the time and the patience to make the pocket book with the fabric flower and how different I had been from most in the originality of my gift. Unbeknownst to them, it took me about an hour to make it and a ten minute stop at the store to get the supplies. That was it!!!

I never thought that in a million years that this would be a hobby to recommend to others. I had grown fond of paper and origami crafts but never fabric in this sense. I admit that I was terribly mistaken.

Now I recommend this creative hobby to you or anyone that is asking for a fun and inexpensive way to express your creativity, not to mention impressing your wife and friends. Just don't go starting out experimenting on expensive pocket books like I did!

Best Flowers to Show Sympathy

People use flowers for a number of reasons. They are sent to others when something great has happened in their life, as an expression of love, for encouragement, and also for sympathy. They are a way in which people let others know that they are thinking about them in both good times and in bad, but it is in the bad times when someone needs to know that they are supported, especially in a time of grief.

Flowers for sympathy

Flowers

Flowers for sympathy are certainly not meant to take away the pain that comes during a grieving time. However, this gesture is a great way to let other family members and friends know that they are not alone in their grief; that they have always got someone by their side. It is an honorable gesture, a gesture of kindness, and one of respect. The act shows those grieving how the life of the deceased touched the life of the one sending the flowers.

Best Flowers to Show Sympathy

The best sympathy flowers

The debate on what flowers are the best sympathy flowers has been ongoing for quite some time. Some may say lilies are the best while others say yellow roses are a great expression of sympathy. Many people have their preferences and their favorites. You've probably even sat in a funeral home, looking at all of the different flower arrangements and thought, "that is an interesting choice of flower." It is not at all common to see flowers that do not look like the traditional funeral flower.

However, the flowers that seems to be favored and have proven to be an adequate choice for sympathy flowers is those flowers that are composed of many different colors. It is amazing how many buying flowers for sympathy do not think of the colors of the flowers. Then again, there are many who do. Even something as simple as picking out your favorite colors can be adequate.

What is ideal is buying flowers that were the favorite colors of the deceased, if that is known, and even finding out what their favorite flower was. If not known, pastels make a great choice and it is always safe to go with lilies and roses. A light pastel red makes a wonderful color of flower to show sympathy.

Real VS Artificial

The sender of the flowers usually makes the decision to use real or artificial flowers. Real flowers smell very sweet and give the grieving a comfortable feeling. However, the sender usually states that they want a particular arrangement to go to a specific person and may want the flowers to last them for a while once in their home. Many times these flowers may have a candle or another centerpiece included with them, which makes it ideal to choose artificial flowers.

If the sender knows if the person receiving the flowers likes real or artificial, that is a great way to solve that dilemma when buying sympathy flowers. The idea is to give the grieving individual something that can be enjoyed in their time of grief.

The perfect flowers

With this said, it is fair to say that the best sympathy flowers are going to be those that are colorful. The flowers should also be either a favorite flower of the deceased or the person receiving the arrangement. If not sure, then roses and lilies make a great choice. Whether or not to buy real flowers or artificial flowers depends on what you would like the recipient to use them for. If you want to provide an environment that is comfortable, then the sweet aroma of real flowers can be quite soothing.

Best Flowers to Show Sympathy

Sympathy Flowers are an expression to show to the loved ones support in a time of grief. Find the perfect Toronto flowers for any occasion and have them delivered to your loved ones domestically or internationally.

Say It With Gorgeous Flowers on Valentine's Day!

There is a saying, "Stop and smell the roses". This may apply every day as we go about our bustling, busy lives, in order to slow down and appreciate the lovely things in life. However, on Valentine's Day, flowers become even more of a treat, as they are given to our loved ones and sweethearts. Red roses, in particular, are the most popular Valentine's Day gift among the flowers, but other colors and even other flowers are often given as a symbol of love, caring, friendship, flirting, or any number of emotions that one can convey through the language of flowers.

Red roses given to someone indicate love and passion. A single red rose says "I love you" while a big bouquet of a dozen roses is the quintessential gift of romantic love on this special day. What girl isn't blown away by a giant bouquet of red roses landing on her desk or arriving at her door? A single red rose given to a girl at the beginning of a romantic Valentine's Day date will set stars in her eyes for the rest of the night. The red rose is a veritable symbol on Valentine's Day, and can signal deep romantic love.

Flowers

There are other emotions you can convey with flowers on Valentine's Day through flowers, too. A lavender rose symbolizes "love at first sight". Maybe you have that special girl you always see on the subway or in the office next door that you want to surprise on this special day. Lavender roses signify your falling in love with her the first time you saw her; sending a bouquet of these purple blossoms will let her know that fact. Valentine's Day is the perfect time to let her know this!

Say It With Gorgeous Flowers on Valentine's Day!

Perhaps you are in a new relationship that is just blossoming, and you want to let that special someone know you really want to keep it going. You can send them orange roses on Valentine's Day to signal this. Orange roses mean enthusiasm, and the signal for pursuing a new love. White roses will signify purity and innocence, or can say "I miss you" if you haven't seen your love in awhile. White roses can also mean confession, so careful when you are sending these! Of course, not all roses mean love and romance and happiness. Yellow roses can mean just friendship, or even jealousy! These can be a meaningful color of rose to send or receive on Valentine's Day. Watch out, sometimes the language of flowers can say too much!

The language of flowers doesn't even have to remain focused on just roses, though these are definitely the most popular flower on this special day. Step out of the box and send some balsam, which means "ardent love", or carnations that signify deep romantic passion. Anyone speaking the language of flowers will know right away, and you will win their heart by not going with the flow of what everyone else does.

Whether you go the route of red roses or something less traditional for Valentine's Day, saying it with flowers is a beautiful way to go!

Flowers' Meanings

All flowers have meaning. They have their own language and people have been using them since the Victorian Age as symbols expressing their feelings. Today, these fragile blooms are used to express one sentiment or another as one leading psychologist states, "Flowers are a perfect replica of human life."

And because different flowers have different meanings, it is important that when you give one to your loved one, you are sending them the right message. Here is a short list of our favorite flowers to send and their corresponding meanings:

Flowers

Rose

Flowers' Meanings

The rose has several meanings, depending on the color, the occasion, and whether or not it is in full bloom or just a bud. Thus, a bridal rose symbolizes "happy love" while a Christmas rose means "tranquilize my anxiety" or simply, "anxiety."

A damask rose on the other hand means "Persian ambassador of love", a dark crimson rose symbolizes "mourning", and a hibiscus rose means "delicate beauty."

If someone gives you a rose leaf, it is like the giver is saying that "you may hope." But if you receive a pink rose, it means either "perfect happiness" or "please, believe me." A red rose, of course, means "love" or "I love you."

If you get a bouquet of mature rose blooms, it means "gratitude" but if you only receive a single full bloom, it means "I love you" or "I still love you."

Tulip

Another favorite, tulip flowers in general mans "perfect lover, fame, flower emblem of Holland." A red tulip can be equivalent to a single rose in full bloom in that it symbolizes a "declaration of love," however it could also mean "believe me." Variegated tulip flowers mean that the giver of the flower thinks you have "beautiful eyes."

If the tulip is yellow, it means "there's sunshine in your smile."

Chrysanthemum

In Japan, the chrysanthemum is the official crest of the Imperial family. But in the world of romance, the red chrysanthemum means "I Love You" while the white one means "truth."

Watch out for that yellow chrysanthemum though because it means that you have slighted someone who is in love with you.

Hyacinth

Hyacinths are flowers dedicated to Apollo, the Greek god of the sun who is also considered as the patron of the arts. Hence, the hyacinth in general is used to symbolize "games and sports" as well as "rashness."

The blue hyacinth symbolizes "constancy" while the red or pink hyacinth symbolizes a playful nature. When you receive a purple hyacinth from your best friend or loved one with whom you just had a fight, consider the flower as their way of saying "I am Sorry, Please Forgive Me." Both could also mean "sorrow."

Business Thank You Etiquette

Business etiquette is a very important factor in business today. The following suggestions may help you when acknowledging a compliment or a gift, or when you are extending a thank you to someone for a job well done.

Flowers

Saying "please" and "thank you" are not empty gestures. When you say "thank you," you are showing appreciation and displaying confidence.

Gifts Gift Ideas, Flowers, Gift Baskets

Receiving compliments graciously should not be hard to do. The trick is to simply say, "thank you" to the colleague, supervisor or client who has complimented you on a job well done.

How do you say thank you after a business breakfast, lunch or dinner? Of course, give an immediate verbal thank you to your host, and then follow up with a note of thanks. Even if you communicate frequently by email a quick, hand-written note is a much more personal and much under used method of conveying extra thanks.

If a co-worker or business associate refers a client to you, thank them for their assistance. A short note will let them know how much you appreciate their collegiality. And they are more likely to refer to you again.

If you have pulled a meeting together with speakers or special guests, make sure to write a thank you to each immediately after the event. Keep a small supply of thank you cards in your desk drawer to make this kind of follow-up quick and easy. There are many events in the corporate world for which gifts are a necessity. When a company shows its appreciation for employees, clients, suppliers, and any other group of people who help to make them the success they are....

What Are Gifts and Incentives?

It's very important to realize that corporate gifts are not promotional items. Gifts and incentives are totally different from promotional items given out at trade shows.
Corporate gifts are given to clients with whom you have an ongoing working relationship. They can also be given to your employees to recognize outstanding performance or for personal achievements such as a promotion or birthday.

Please note that sales incentives also differ from gifts. They recognize employees who reach certain goals and employees work to achieve these goals in order to get the incentive. Incentives range in value and type but are usually more extravagant than corporate gifts.

When To Buy For Clients

We usually think of the holiday season as the time when businesses give corporate gifts to their clients. So why don't you make yourself stand out from the crowd by giving gifts in the off season. There's no gift giving protocol that requires you to send gifts only in the holiday season.

For example, think about giving a gift to celebrate the completion of a big project you've worked on with your client. Or how about recognizing a special event? Did your client just open a new office? Gifts are a great way to say "congratulations."

While there are many appropriate times to give gifts - there are also times when you absolutely should NOT give a gift. For example, giving a gift during a bidding process could be seen as bribery.

When To Buy For Employees As with clients, holidays are a popular time to buy for employees. It's a good way to say "thanks for a great year" and the best time to give an annual bonus.

You can also recognize personal achievements, like birthdays, promotions, and the birth of a child with gifts. Small gifts are appropriate and always appreciated.

When considering incentives there are many choices. We often consider sales incentives, but you may also want to consider rewarding a marketing team who creates a great campaign or technical team who works over to get you up and running ahead of schedule. Consider gifts like fruit of the month clubs

Gifts For Clients

After you decide when to give, the question now is what to give. And here you have so many options.

Food gift baskets are a very popular and cost-effective choice. Gourmet gift baskets are sure to please everyone and you can choose from gift baskets ranging in price from $ 20.00 to over $ 100.00 . Popular non-food gifts that are also fairly inexpensive include flowers, and office items.

Whatever you give, if possible try to make it relevant to your client. Think back to your conversations with your client. Did they mention a special hobby or interest? If the gift coincides with a hobby, the gift will be even more appreciated.

For example, if your client mentioned they love fishing, a simple book on fishing would be perfect.

Then make it even more personal by adding their name and a short thank you on the inside cover.

I personally don't suggest charitable donations ... some clients could find this offensive

Gifts For Employees

Plaques and trophies are always a great way to recognize a special achievement your employee makes. They're personal and can be displayed wherever the employee chooses.

Bonuses are a good idea for employees. The idea may seem impersonal, but you can be sure money will be well received. It can be given as a year-end gift, or as an incentive.

Of course, an incentive doesn't have to be money; it can be a holiday, or even a car. Remember that the bigger the incentive, the harder your employees will work for it.

Gift Etiquette

The most important rule, with both employees and clients, is to not offend! And that doesn't just mean not giving a gourmet gift basket with pork to your Jewish client. There are many other ways to offend that you really should make sure to avoid.

Find out if your clients company has a gift giving policy. This is very easy to do by calling the business and ask the receptionist or HR department. Do you know if your own company has a policy, you should also check it out before choosing a gift for your employees or workmates.

Very extravagant corporate gifts (not incentives) are considered inappropriate in most cases. Not only can they appear as bribery with clients, they can make the recipient feel uncomfortable (especially if they want to return a gift).

If you would like to deliver the gift in person this is fine but it is a good idea not to wait around while they open it. If you've sent the gift through the mail, don't ask the recipient if they've received it. The best idea is to call the vendor.

How Much Should You Pay?

You needn't spend a lot to make a good impression with your clients or employees.

It's very common for businesses to spend less than total for each client gift. It's also a good idea to tailor each gift to specific clients ( if you can )- you may also want to spend more on clients that do more business with you.

Monetary gifts for employees are at your discretion and can be a set amount or a percentage of the employee's salary.

If you're a small business and considering an incentive program, big ticket items are out of the question. Instead, consider awarding day trips to somewhere close by like an amusement park for the family, or leisure-oriented items such as theatre tickets, a day at a spa, or a night at a hotel.

Even if you are on a small budget, you can still give gifts and incentives. You just need to be creative. There may well be some creative and crafty people within your organization who will be happy to help you out with ideas or the actual gifts.

With all of the choices out there, gifts and incentives are within any budget. And just think -- gift-giving and incentive programs are not just a sign of generosity; they are a very important part of maintaining positive and healthy relationships with your clients and employees alike.

How To Make Origami Flowers

Origami is a Japanese word meaning the art of folding papers into shapes to create decorative objects. Learning how to make origami flowers will give you a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Any local hobby, or art store would carry the specific color or colors of origami paper that you may need to construct your flowers. You can use regular newspaper but it is usually too thick for the folding process, however the specialized origami paper is thin enough and cut to the right size and shape.

Flowers

When making an origami flower this is exactly what is done and for these origami flowers only a few tools are needed. Aside from origami paper the only tools you need are; a pair of scissors, a pencil, and a ruler.

How To Make Origami Flowers

One of the easiest origami flowers to make is the rose. Four sheets of origami paper are needed, one sheet for the leaves (green) and three sheets for the flower (red). The second red piece is about three quarters the length of the first, and the third is about three quarters the length of the second one. The fourth square (the green one) is the same size as the largest red piece. Origami square base is the pattern that will be used to fold all three of the red pieces. This process is very simple once you learn it.

Take one square and fold it on the diagonals, then on the East-West line and the North-south line.

Make sure that the colored side is facing upwards. Now fold the diagonals as the valley goes (downward), and the East-West and North-South as the mountain goes (upward). Repeat this process on the other 2 red pieces.

Make an imaginary line through the paper, then fold and unfold the right corner of the base to the middle of the imaginary line. Next fold the edge onto the crease mark you made and unfold it. And then you can fold the right edge to the left, and repeat this process on the reverse side. Perform the same steps on the other two pieces of red origami paper. Then, put the rose petal forms inside one another to giving your flower a 3D look. Lastly, shape the green paper to make leaves and put it underneath all the red pedals for a beautiful flower.

Origami flower art is an inexpensive hobby that can be very rewarding. It's not hard to learn, once you get the right directions, and it's very much fun to do. One or two hours spend on learning these processes is approximately all the time it would take. The creation of origami flowers gets faster the more of these lovely flowers you make.

Creative Ideas for Church Wedding Flowers Using Decorative Pew End Markers

As the bridal party makes their way down the aisle the sweet fragrance of the wedding flowers fills the air and sets the stage for what is to come. Flowers on the pew ends, with church wedding flowers, or attached to a chair, for an outdoor wedding, not only add beauty and function to designated seating they can also evoke favorite memories from the family members and offer calming thoughts as they anxiously await the ceremony.

Such precious memories may be something as simple as a mother remembering the first flower her daughter gave her as a child or memories of the two of them sharing the same favorite flower. It may be the familiar fragrance that acts as aromatherapy and soothes the soul or just being surrounded by beautiful flowers marking the special occasion.

Flowers

Pew ends provide a wonderful space to add drama and excitement. There are so many choices and styles and they are surprisingly easy to make. I'd like to share some ideas on my favorite designs to add a special touch to pew ends. I'll include church wedding ideas as well as some outdoor ideas.

Creative Ideas for Church Wedding Flowers Using Decorative Pew End Markers

One of my favorite applications is to place a small arrangement on each pew and connect them with a floral garland between the pews. They don't have to be very big arrangements to make a statement, but you can of course make them as big as you like.

The garlands can be removed on one side for seating and allowed to hang down from the center arrangement. They look especially good when matched with a halo for the flower girl. This type of pew marker also works well for outdoor seating. In a less formal setting, the bridal family could be seated from the outside row so the garland would not have to be removed.

Floral garlands can be made from any type of greenery. Boxwood, ming fern, ivy, and rosemary are good choices. Small flowers can be wired into the greenery or it can be left as it is. The pew markers can be arranged in a style that compliments the bridal bouquet.

Winter weddings offer an opportunity to transform the venue into a winter wonderland. Curly willow or any other type of twig can be grouped together and used as pew ends, centerpieces, wreaths, door arrangements, etc.

The twigs can be spray painted white or flocked. Glitter or tiny battery operated rice lights can be woven through the branches. Trees can be cut and potted in plaster of paris to match the pew ends. Tiny "trees" can be made from the twigs and used as table top decorations.

Fall pew ends look good with maple leaves and any type of autumn flower. Maple leaves can be scattered on table tops for the reception with candles to continue the theme. Acorns are great additions as they have long been used as a symbol of strength and fertility.

Pew ends for a beach or tropical wedding could include sea shells with orchids, anthurium, bird of paradise or ginger flowers. A garland of tropical flowers made from a Hawaiian lei would make a beautiful pew marker.

If you prefer a very tall pew marker, candle holders or topiaries can be used. Keep in mind, though, that a large pew end can make it difficult to seat the guests and may obstruct the view of the front of the church. They do work well for outdoor events especially if the area is an open space.

My preferred method is to use a small satin ribbon to attach the pew arrangements. Not only do they look better than a plastic one, but they prevent scratching the expensive church furniture. If that is not an option such as in using a bundle of twigs, a strip of soft cloth can be wrapped around the pew with a piece of tape over the cloth to hold the twigs. Ribbon can then be used to cover the cloth and tape.

Turn your church wedding flowers into something elegant and spectacular by making good use of church pew ends.

How To Make Paper Flowers

Are you wondering how to make paper flowers for a special event in your life?  Maybe you want flowers that won't wilt before the party, some that you can have ready ahead of time where you don't have to wait till the last minute to go out and buy them put them in some water and arrange them before your guests arrive, or maybe you want something you have made yourself to show off, or something that you can use over again and again, and where you can save a lot of money by making them yourself.

It isn't hard to make paper flowers you will need a few materials and tools, which you probably already have a lot of these things in your home if you do crafting. Such as scissors, craft glue, floral wire, floral tape, wire cutter, either quilters plastic or thin cardboard for making your templates or patterns, knitting needle, and a ruler this is a lot of what you might need.

Flowers

Next you will need to cut out all the parts for your flowers, then you will start making the flower itself by putting the petals in the order that they need to be, the instructions for your paper flower will tell you how and where they are to be arranged and if they need any type of shaping.

How To Make Paper Flowers

If your flower has a stamen then you can use an artificial one or you can make your own, usually if the flower instructions calls for a stamen then there should also be a pattern for making the stamen for the flower. When making your flower then add the stamen to the stem with glue and sometimes you will need to wire it to the stem to hold it in place on the stem before you add the petals of your flower.

When you make the leaves you may want to add a small wire down the center of the leaf for more support, either on the underside of your leaf or it can be sandwiched between two leaf shapes, I prefer this method all you need to do is place the wire between two leaf shapes, glue the wire down the center of one of the leaves then glue the two leaf shapes together, then using a knitting needle draw a few lines in the leaf (do not press to hard or you may tear your leaf) so it looks like the veins of a leaf for a more realistic look.

The next step is to wrap the flower stem with floral tape, then re-wrap the stem this time adding your leaves as you wrap the stem here and there down the stem to make it look like a real flower stem.

You may want to add a little color to the flower, if so you will need to do this before you put the flower petals together so you can get the color where you want it to go. There are several different ways to add color to your flowers you can use craft paints, colored markers (they may bleed into the paper), crayons, and chalk are some.

To make your paper flowers shine and make them hold their shape better you may want to get a spray gloss that is for paper projects and spray your paper flowers. This will bring out the colors more and give your flowers a nice shine.

For some of your paper flower projects you may want to add a little glitter or beads to add a little dazzle to them. All you need is glitter that you can find in craft stores spray the flower with a little spray glue sprinkle on some glitter let dry and spray with spray gloss, this helps keep the glitter from shedding. If you like beads then get glue that dries clear and add the glue to the flower and stick on the bead, do not use a heavy bead or it will weigh down your flower petals, you can use beads for the flower center or just put them here and there on the petals to make your flower fancy.

This is how to make paper flowers. There are books on the Internet that gives you detailed instructions, patterns, what tools and materials you need for each flower, and shows a finished picture. So if this makes you want to try your hand at making paper flowers then check out the Internet for some of the books and information on them.
